Jan 2024-Spring 2024: I will be on maternity leave and unable to accept new clients.
Did you know that:
1 out of 5 women suffer from a maternal mental health related condition during pregnancy or in the year following the birth of a new baby.
1 out of 8 women suffer with post partum depression.
1 out of 4 women suffer from a miscarriage in their lifetime.
1 out of 100 suffer from recurrent miscarriages.
1 out of 5 women suffer from infertility.
About half of all of these women suffer silently and without any treatment.
If you fall into one (or more) of those categories, you are not alone. My heart absolutely aches for you. If you find yourself on my website looking for a therapist who understands and cares, perhaps learning a little bit more about my story may help you feel less alone.
My husband and I were so excited to find out we were expecting baby #1 in January of 2022. Just a few short weeks later at our first ultrasound, we learned that our sweet baby did not have a heartbeat. It was completely earth shattering. All of a sudden, our plans were hurled out the window and we unexpectedly found ourselves tossed into the "1 in 4." We later learned that we did not just lose one baby, but we actually lost two. Yes- it was a set of twins. Needless to say, we were devastated. It took time, but we eventually began taking steps forward towards recovery and began planning for our rainbow pregnancy.
We conceived again in July 2022. I ended up miscarrying this pregnancy.
Here we go again.
Once the pregnancy was passed, it didn't take long before we conceived again. We conceived once again in September 2022. I ended up miscarrying yet again.
Needless to say, it was a very painful, confusing time.
Through the immense grief, God comforted me and revealed Himself to me in ways I've never experienced before. It was during this season that His plans for me to pursue certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Therapist became abundantly clear. I'm still very much so on my journey and fully trust that He has great plans for my husband and I. As my husband and I wait on our promise, it is my desire to accompany you on your motherhood journey. Whether your motherhood journey looks like mine, or you’re struggling with something completely different, I want to journey with you towards your healing.
I'm currently trained as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (by Postpartum Support International). I'm in the process of completing the requirements to qualify for full certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist. I pray the knowledge of my story and my training leave you with the feeling that you'd be working with a therapist who understands what this journey can feel like. If you are a woman who is struggling, I'd love to be of support to you. Contact me to schedule your free consultation to see if we'd be a good fit for each other.
